Day 08 - Short Term Goals For This Month And Why.

(Seeing as this month is nearly over, I'll take it as next month :) )

Get a job. In town. Don't quit after 1 shift.
Yeah The Plough isn't going to last because it's too much of a hassle getting home after a late shift. If only I could drive..but to learn to drive I need a job..it's a pickle. (And yes, I know I should've thought about the distance BEFORE I told Grace I would gladly have her job, especially after she said "You'll need to find a way home and sometimes you don't finish until 12/1am." BUT I was very desperate and on the wrong side of a bottle of Jacques by that point. (Yes, once again, alcohol is my excuse :D ) )

Get at least to J in sorting out my iTunes.
IT'S SO DULL. I have to go through my iPod, listen to the songs and decide which ones I actually want to keep (I'm trying to be brutal to delay the ever depressing "there is not enough room on your iPod" message) AND THEN download the song/album on to my laptop and make sure all the info is correct and has capitals on my iTunes. So far, after about a month, I have made it to the end of artists beginning with B. I have no discipline. BUT the sooner I get it done, the sooner I can have new music on my pod :)

Give this girl a massive shout out and say "her Welsh accent is actually pretty amazing and the first time I heard it I was half asleep and so didn't hear it properly".

Minn's Welsh accent is actually pretty amazing etc etc.

YEAH. One out of three goals achieved. It's a good day :)

Day 07 - A Picture Of Someone/Something That Has The Biggest Impact On You.

Eurgh. This seems like the kind of post I won't be able to do without getting all deep and profound and generally sounding like a douche. So here's some pictures that amuse me instead.

Ha. Guys dressed as rabbits...

Ten Things I Learnt Today.

  1. Chefs have no time for me and my faffing.
  2. Chefs dislike if you tip the plate so soup goes up the side of the part they just cleaned.
  3. Dogs don't understand "excuse me".
  4. The Reading wristband is a good conversation starter but the length of the conversation is greatly shortened if you have a brain block and forget all the bands you saw.
  5. I am taller than I think and should really check if ducking would be a good idea before just waltzing through a door.
  6. I should properly check there is no one on the other side of the kitchen door before just kicking it open.
  7. Some customers can be really nice if they know you're new. Which is nice. But the patronising look on one of their faces was not.
  8. Pain perdu is just a posh way of saying eggy bread. Most people do not know this and will need it explained. They will then ask why the menu doesn't just say eggy bread. I have not learnt the answer to that today.
  9. I am always in the way. (OK, I learnt that a while ago, but it's always nice to have it re-confirmed.)
  10. Learned and learnt mean the same thing but learnt is typically British :)
(Oh, by the way, in case you're not keeping up, I started my new job at the pub today :) )

Day 06 - Favourite Super Hero And Why.

It's going to be slightly embarrassing how much thought I have put into this. But I have thought about it before...
  Spiderman.

Look at him JC-ing with his girl. What a babe.

He's better than Superman because Superman is an alien. It's wrong.
He's better than Batman because Batman is moody and doesn't actually have any super powers.

And those are the only superhero films/TV shows I have watched.

Spiderman was just a normal guy that got bitten by a mutated spider. Which means there's hope for me becoming a superhero as long as I can find the right mutated spider :D

Spiderman also wins because of this..
It will get stuck in your head all day.

Day 05 - A Picture Of Somewhere You’ve Been To.

It had to be Kavos.

If I remember correctly, this picture was taken when we had returned from a night out and Megan took control of my camera as she wanted some photos in daylight. I particularly like this one as it represents how little of the local culture we actually experienced. Our nights were spent in Buzz and the beach outside Atlantis, our days were spent here, listening to bangin' tunes and buying ice creams from Graham, the slightly scary but ultimately BABE like geezer behind the bar. We did venture all the way down the road to the beach once, but sand + wind = Jo being a miserable git. We also went on a "booze cruise" on the last day which I think the majority of us were too monged out to make the most of but it was nice to have a change of scene and drink the most disgusting cocktail ever :)
So yes. Kavos. A pretty good holiday of doing nothing :)

Day 04 - A Habit That You Wish You Didn’t Have.

A habit I wish I didn’t have. Hmm. Which one to pick.
Ok. I have just been reminded of one by preparing for tonight. I'm going to choose the amount of pictures I take once under the influence of alcohol. It's not that I don't like being the one with the camera..it's nice to have a purpose on a night out. But it's the sheer volume of photos I take. On Minn's last night I took 319. IN ONE NIGHT. That's 319 photos to de-red eye, rotate and filter through for ones facebook worthy. Ok, maybe I could filter and THEN de-red eye etc, but I'm slightly OCD when it comes to photos. And anyway, even after I filtered there was 188 photos to upload and caption if appropriate. Now I'm not exactly the busiest of bees but it can get slightly dull. Still, I will continue to do it because deep down I love it. And the billions of notifications I receive because of it :| (pet hate-"this person has made your photo their profile picture". I DON'T CARE. But I kind of do. :/)

If I could I would tell you how many drunken photos I have taken in my 7 months of legal drinking (because I know you care). Unfortuntely due to a grave error on my part I accidently permanently deleted my "2010" folder of photos the other week. I did nearly cry. But luckily the majority are on facey b :D

The photos also help us to remember moments that we had otherwise forgotten. For example this. Meg fell over? Cool.
And maybe if I took less photos I wouldn't catch moments like this.
So maybe it's a habit I don't wish I didn't have.
Which makes this whole post utterly pointless :)

Day 03 - A Picture Of You And Your Friends.

READING BABY.

Reading was AWESOME. Camping in a bog with only enough money between two of us to afford three burgers, surviving off Aldi crisps and Strongbow? Waking up at 8 and monging around the campsite until about 5 at which time you would squelch to the arena and watch some pretty good bands? What could be better? Definitely going next year. Even if I have to sell a kidney to afford a ticket.

Unfortunately I didn't see these lovely people as much as I would've liked at Reading. But I do LOVE them. Two of them are selfishly abandoning me to go to uni and will be/are being sorely missed. In fact one of them just rang me to show me how good her Welsh accent has gotten from hanging around with Welsh people (it was average to be honest :D ).

Talking of Welsh...my half brother is visiting with his Welsh girlfriend. She is amazing. PROPER Welsh, seriously like something out of Gavin and Stacey. Little bit mad. Gets really excited over little things, for example the squirrel that was in our garden caused mega excitement. I'll be sorry to see her go :)

Day 02 - The Meaning Behind Your Blog Name

Ok. First of all you need to know the name I had on the back of my Kavos T-shirt.

(If you don't know the meaning behind "Pegleg" I can't help you)

I'm afraid the story isn't very interesting. We were trying to find our seats on the plane ("Seat 6A? Straight down there.") and I bagsied the window seat as we walked past a group of LEDZ. One of them said they wanted the window seat. I replied "Gutted" or "Sucks to be you then" or something equally as witty and as I walked away one of them said "Classic Peggers" which freaked me out. HOW DID THEY KNOW ABOUT PEGLEG?! Because it's written in big white letters across my back. Oh.

Day 01 - A Recent Picture Of You And 15 Interesting Facts About Yourself.

Minn lefted me :(

ANYWAYS. 15 interesting facts. Right.
  1. This blog has caused a lot of my friends to be "appalled" with me and I havn't even started yet.
  2. I'm unemployed.
  3. I'm potentially homeless.
  4. I was supposed to go to uni and decided not to about 3 weeks before I was supposed to go.
  5. My hangover cure is chocolate milk and salt and vinegar crisps.
  6. I need music. I hate silence.
  7. I spend too much money internet shopping. Lately it's been on Zara.
  8. When I havn't eaten for a while I am no one's friend.
  9. I am not a morning person. At all.
  10. I usually get hooked on a song/album and will play it on repeat until I can't stand it anymore.
  11. I can never pick just one favourite thing.
  12. I take way too many photos when I'm drunk.
  13. I'm a complete horder. Recently I've been made to clear my room out. I started, filled up two bin bags and took 4 trips to the recycling bin and I'm not even half done.
  14. I tell people 14 is my lucky number but that's only because it's my birthday. It has never actually bought me any luck.
  15. People that try to make out they're so different from everyone else really bug me because there's probably a million people just like them.
TA DA. Maybe not interesting but there's definitely 15 :)

Oh Hey.

Yep. This is happening. I've jumped on the blogger bandwagon. I thought I might as well seeing as I'm now unemployed and my days consist of watching 4od and re-doing my itunes. I thought I'd start with doing that 30 day challenge which I have copied off Kate to ease me in to the blogging world. (Also have to shout out to Emma who helped get me into blogging. These two will probably be my only two followers but they're basically the only blogs I read so it's all good :) ) So yeah. Enjoy. Or don't. It's up to you :)
